Glossy Technique

CCREW817TECNow that we have glossy paper back, I wanted to do my Technique challenge for the Creative Crew on Splitcoaststampers using glossy paper.  So, I chose, Joseph’s coat.  I learned a couple of things and I wanted to share it with you.

First, you must use Classic Basic Black Ink.  I tried it first with Archival Basic Black.  It wiped right off.  YIKES!  Finally, don’t use pastel colors.  I sponged Elegant Eggplant and Wisteria Wonder on the background and only the Elegant Eggplant showed up through the clear embossing powder (you can see it on the edges).

I used the following products on this card:  Dare To Dream Hostess Stamp Set, Postscript Stamp Set (it’s a background set).  I also used the decorative ribbon punch, Crushed Curry Mini Chevron Ribbon, glitter enamel dots, 5/8″ burlap ribbon (just one of the strings pulled from it) and the Stampin’ Up! Stapler (yes, it’s no longer available but I still have mine and it works great!)

Here’s the link in case you want to try this great technique!  http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/josephs_coat/
